Maple Bourbon Steak Recipe

Steak infused with rich maple sweetness and a hint of bourbon, creating a perfect blend of flavors.

Ingredients

  • 4–6 oz beef tenderloin filets, room temperature
  • 2 tsp coarse salt
  • 2 tsp black pepper
  • 23 cup Maple Grove Farms® Pure Maple Syrup
  • ½ cup bourbon
  • 13 cup low sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 18 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Sprinkle the salt and pepper over both sides of the filets; set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine the syrup, bourbon, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, mustard
    and red pepper flakes.
  4. Whisk to combine then turn on medium heat.
  5. Bring to a boil and immediately turn the heat down to a simmer.
  6. Stir frequently and continue to simmer until the mixture is reduced by half.
    While the sauce is simmering, heat the oil in an oven safe, heavy bottomed skillet (preferably
    cast iron) over medhigh heat for two minutes.
  7. Add the filets and sear the first side for 2 minutes. Flip and sear the second side for 23 minutes.
  8. Transfer the skillet to the oven and bake until they reach an internal temperature of 135°F (for a
    medium steak), about 810 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and place the steaks on a cutting board to rest for 10 minutes.
  10. Serve with maple bourbon sauce.
