Maple Sugar Biscuits 
 
INGREDIENTS:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 4 tablespoons shortening
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup Maple Grove Farms Pure Maple Sugar
DIRECTIONS:
Sift the dry ingredients into a bowl.
Mix in the shortening.
Add milk to make a soft dough.
Pat or roll out to make one-half inch thick.
Cut with small biscuit cutter.
Spread with softened butter an with Pure Maple Sugar (also with cinnamon, if desired).
Bake in greased pan or baking sheet at 400F for about 15 minutes.
 
YIELD:  Makes 16 bicuits
