Elegant Maple Bread Pudding 
 
INGREDIENTS:
  • 4 slices Italian bread
  • 2/3 cup Maple Grove Farms of Vermot Blended Maple Spread
  • 3 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 cup light cream, scalded
  • 1 1/2 cups  whole milk, scalded
  • 3 tablesppons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • dash salt
DIRECTIONS:
Heat oven to 350F.
Butter 1 1/2 quart casserole.
Lightly toast bread.
Spread each slice with maple spread.
Remove crusts and cut each slice into 4 pieces.
Cover bottom of casserole with bread, lightly layering.
Scald the light cream and milk together.
Blend eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt together.
Stir in a small amount of the milk mixture, gradually add remainder.
Gently pour this over the maple toast.
Place the casserole in a pan of very hot water 1 inch deep.
Bake 60-65 minutes or until the pudding is just barely set.
Remove casserole from water. Serve warm.
